Your dog trusts you completely, and when disaster strikes, they'll be counting on you.

The Bark Out is a complete small dog emergency survival kit built specifically for dogs, because a standard kit simply won't cut it when your pet has needs that humans don't. Every item inside was chosen with your dog in mind, from the collapsible food and water dishes to the ready-to-serve dog food, waste bags, and a 53-piece pet-specific first aid kit complete with a splint set, trauma shears, sterile gauze, and a Pet First Aid Book that walks you through exactly what to do if they're injured.

Because staying calm matters just as much as staying safe, we've included comfort items, familiar toys that help reduce your dog's anxiety when their world is turned upside down. A stressed dog is harder to manage in a crisis, and the Bark Out accounts for that.

The Basic kit covers every essential in a compact, grab-and-go bag, food, water, first aid, sanitation, and comfort, all organized and ready the moment you need it. The Deluxe adds a dog stake and 50ft rope for temporary tie-out, a warm dog blanket, a carrying case, and a dedicated first aid pouch so everything stays organized and accessible under pressure.

Lightweight and portable, the Bark Out is ready for home emergencies, car travel, or full evacuation scenarios...wherever you and your dog need to go.

Be the owner your dog already thinks you are. Choose your Basic or Deluxe Bark Out below.

Scenarios This Kit Covers

  • Emergency evacuation with your dog
  • Sheltering in place during a power outage or storm
  • Temporary outdoor shelter setup with stake and rope (Deluxe)
  • Dog injury or illness during a crisis
  • Road trips and extended travel away from home
  • Natural disasters such as hurricane, earthquake, wildfire evacuation

Pro Tips

  • Store the Bark Out near your own go-bag so you grab both at the same time. You won't want to search for it under pressure
  • The Pet First Aid Book is worth reading before an emergency, not during one. Take 20 minutes to flip through it now.
  • Rotate the dog food every 12 months and check water pouch expiration annually.
  • Tuck a copy of your dog's vaccination records and vet contact info inside the bag.
  • The comfort toys aren't optional. A stressed dog is harder to manage during evacuation; familiar items help significantly.
  • Deluxe users: practice setting up the stake and rope once so it's not new to you in a crisis.

Size & Storage

The Basic Bark Out kit stores in a compact 14" x 10" x 6" footprint and easily fits in a closet, car trunk, under a bed, or on a shelf in your laundry room. At just 6 lbs., it won't take up much space and won't feel like a burden to grab in a hurry. The Deluxe at 18" x 18" x 12" needs a bit more room but stores neatly on a garage shelf or in a large closet. We recommend keeping both your kit and your dog's kit in the same spot. When it's time to go, you shouldn't have to think twice about where either one is.

Good to Know...

Most emergency managers recommend keeping at least three days of supplies for every member of your household and that includes your pets. The challenge with dogs specifically is that their needs differ significantly from humans in ways that catch people off guard during an actual emergency. Shelters that accept evacuees don't always accept animals, so having your own supplies means you're never dependent on what's available at a crowded facility.

A few things worth knowing before an emergency happens: keep a copy of your dog's vaccination records accessible. Many pet-friendly shelters require proof of rabies vaccination before they'll allow entry. If your dog takes any medication, rotate a small supply into your kit and refresh it on the same schedule you'd rotate food and water. And if your dog isn't used to a leash or collar, an emergency is the worst time to find that out. A quick refresher goes a long way.

For small dogs especially, temperature regulation is a real concern during extended displacement. Small breeds lose body heat faster than larger dogs, which is why a blanket and emergency covering matter more than most owners expect.
