Our Story
I'm Dawn Endelman, founder of Gear Up Survival Kits.
I started this business because of a gap I kept seeing: families wanted to be prepared for emergencies, but figuring out which supplies to buy could quickly become overwhelming.
Most people know they should be prepared. They just don't know where to start. Between researching supplies, comparing products, and second-guessing every purchase, it's easy to put it off for another month, and then another.
I created Gear Up Survival Kits to make that first step easier. I carefully select ready-made emergency kits from established suppliers, helping families find practical options without having to assemble everything from scratch.
One more thing shapes how I think about preparedness. I live with hearing loss and wear a cochlear implant, which means the alarms and alerts most families count on don't always work the same way in my house. Planning around that is second nature to me. It's also why I believe preparedness should account for the different needs of every household.
What We Do
Gear Up Survival Kits offers pre-packed emergency kits for households, families, seniors, pets, and everyday situations such as power outages and travel disruptions.
Depending on the kit, supplies may include emergency food and water, first aid essentials, lighting, communication tools, warmth, and other practical items. Our kit contents are selected to align with the emergency supply checklists published by FEMA and the American Red Cross.
Where a kit includes emergency drinking water, it carries U.S. Coast Guard approval. Where it includes long-storage food, that food is made in the USA.
We research our suppliers, review product contents, and look for established manufacturers and documented product standards where applicable. We also believe customers deserve to know exactly what they're buying, which is why each product page explains what's included.
Our kits are assembled and shipped by our suppliers, so you can choose a ready-made solution without having to source every item individually.
