How We Choose Our Emergency Kits

Not every emergency kit earns a place at Gear Up Survival Kits.

What we look for in a supplier

Before we work with a supplier, we research the company, its experience in emergency preparedness, and the products it offers. We look for established, U.S.-based suppliers with a history in the industry and products that meet our quality expectations.

When we add a new supplier, we order from them ourselves to see how fast kits ship and what actually arrives.

What we look for in a kit

Then we look at the kits themselves. What's included? Who is the kit designed for? What needs does it cover, and what will a family still need to add?

For kits containing emergency food and water, we also look at available manufacturer information, shelf life, packaging, and applicable safety approvals or certifications. We believe those details matter just as much as the number of items in a backpack.

We believe preparedness should be practical, understandable, and built around real people.

Who assembles our kits

We don't manufacture or assemble the kits ourselves. We work with experienced suppliers who do, while focusing on helping customers understand their options and choose the supplies that make sense for their households.

Our goal isn't to offer every emergency kit available. It's to offer kits we feel confident putting in front of the families who count on us.
